just sayin'...

yes, it has happened.
i knew it would.
and it's taken about as long as i thought it would.
a month.
the fact that it is mothers day has something to do with it,
  i'm sure!
 it will pass...
then come back.
and pass.
๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–miss my hometown, family and friends very much๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–
just one of the hazards of traveling...

we are in bonifay, florida right now.
we left louisiana yesterday, may 13.
the day prior to our departure was rather tense...
we had to evac our trailer due to a severe tornado warning,
then downgraded to severe thunderstorm.
neither one of us got any pictures of the intense sky,
it was like nothing i've ever seen.
the last thing we thought of
was taking a picture as we went to safe shelter.
it happened SO fast.
we were out of the trailer for about 45 minutes
until we knew it was safe to return,
 then sat in our trailer
during the thunderstorm
and a downpour like i've never seen!
that went on for about an hour.
then the skies cleared, sun came out
and it was like nothing happened.
life goes on...

this is from the day we arrived.
as we are driving through the city,
you come around the bend on the freeway
and this just rises up out of no where...hello.

the day we visited the city, we rode the ferry
across the mississippi river to get to the french quarter.
we are so glad that we did.
 the idea of driving there
and finding a parking space is a nightmare.
we walked everywhere once we got there,
and when we got tired toward the end of the day,
we rode the trolley to the ferry station.  perfect.
the house of blues
we would have loved to see a show,
but nothing going on while we were there.
i did hear they have an amazing church service on sunday,
but we left the area on saturday.
one nice thing about walking the city though,
is that jazz and blues are playing everywhere...
on the street corner, in the park square, bars and restaurants.
 it was pretty cool.
mardi gras beads still hanging on the railing!
guardian angel

cafe du monde
home of the delicious french donuts!
crescent city brewhouse
stopped to have a nice, cold beer.
i like the light, he likes the dark.

the big easy...
let the good times roll...
those words truly describe this city...
